La Academia is a family-run language service set up in 2003. The highly qualified team can deliver engaging courses in any language from across the world, whether it’s French or Finnish through to Polish and Portuguese.

Ruben Cnobel
Ruben is a fully qualified language specialist, who has spent 12 years as a teacher in Argentina and eight years teaching in the UK. He has also worked in a number of primary schools in the last six years.

He is an experienced examination moderator for OCR – one of the largest examination boards in the UK.

Andrea Nicholls
Originally from Argentina, Andrea is a highly respected teacher, translator and interpreter and has worked on a large number of high-profile cases for the police and HM Courts in the UK.

She has worked in the languages sector since 1987 and has worked in a number of primary schools in the last six years.

Laura Kovaleva
I am a professional teacher of Russian as a foreign language with vast experience in teaching the language to adults and children of different ages and from various backgrounds. I absolutely love teaching and always make my lessons both effective and enjoyable. It makes me feel happy that I have an opportunity to teach my native language and culture to people from other countries!

Jennifer Smith
I’m Jen and I love helping people learn new languages! There’s nothing better for me than seeing students improve and come back from holiday or business with increased confidence and energy from all they were able to say and understand. I work with all levels and age groups and always try and make sessions engaging and memorable.

Simon Fletcher
Simon Fletcher has many years experience teaching English to adults and young learners. He spent most of his teaching career in Barcelona, but has also taught in Italy, India and the UK. He is a published poet and short fiction writer, and is currently in the process of completing his first novel.

Esther Kakesa
I am Mrs Esther Kakesa, I am a highly active and enthusiastic person. I am a native French speaker.  Having a diploma in general pedagogy, I am well- equipped with all the teaching techniques and strategies for teaching a new language, especially French. I have 9 years teaching experience and dedicated to providing the best French lessons to all ages.

Susana Penny
I am a friendly and approachable qualified teacher whose passion for languages is infectious! I am Argentinian (native Spanish speaker), I have been teaching Spanish for the past seven years. I enjoy teaching people of all ages and levels. The youngest I teach is 4 and the oldest is over 60.  I teach in kindergartens, primary schools (KS2) and after school clubs; colleges (16-19 years old), adult education (GCSE and A levels) and one to one lessons. I help many GCSE and A’ Level students sail through their exams with confidence.

Ahmet Alver
I am Ahmet Alver, a native Turkish speaker and qualified Turkish teacher with almost 10 years teaching experience for all levels. I had my Master degree in Turkish Language and Literature from University of London and currently studying for my PhD at Manchester University. To date my work experience includes SOAS, Goldsmith (University of London), DSL (Defence School of Languages) and laacademia.

Sonia
My name is Sonia and I’m from La Coruña. I’m a teacher of Spanish who specializes in children. I’ve been working as a Spanish tutor in the UK for 4 years and also in primary schools, nurseries and children clubs. I love working in England.

Melody Valois
Melody has almost ten year experience in the MFL profession, including overseas teaching, materials design, English and French as a foreign language teaching in primary and higher education.

My name is Silvi, I’m from Argentina and I’m a native Spanish speaker.

Having a Psychology degree has helped me a lot to have a different approach to students (children and adults) to create solid relationships with them.

My secret for a good lesson is to have fun and enjoy learning a new language!!

• My name is Lin Liu. I come from the north of China (further north than Beijing, but not very far). 
• I have been passionated about languages since the first time when I enrolled in an English  language school in Southampton 11 years ago. 
• I used to work in architecture.

Melissa

I am a salsa teacher born and bred in Peru.  I have lived in England for many years and have taught salsa to adults and children all over the North West.  I love dancing and try to transmit this love when teaching!
